West High School is the oldest high school in Anchorage, built approximately 60 years ago. It serves more than 1,900 students each year. Within the building there are numerous smaller learning communities. The student population is diverse, representing a broad range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. West offers a wide array of programs to meet the needs of students’ various learning styles and academic abilities.
